Responsibilities
Senior Technical UI Designer at Epic Games:

• Primarily on the building team, but also help out across various aspects of the game
• Co-designer & technical implementation of the build menu UI (with minor UI eng support)
• Contributed heavily to the build previewer via blueprint scripting, UI messaging, and VFX support
• Extended the build previewer with a C++ system for real-time piece previewing while in the build menu
• Created a C++ system for 'favoriting' and recently built pieces to display within build menu categories
• Responsible for shader optimization of guided build VFX & created per hardware spec culling transitions

Notable Successes
• Peak CCU of nearly 2.5 million players
• Contributed to Fortnite's all time record of 100 million MAU in the month of December 2023
• Days before launch I earned a second consecutive 'Exceeds Expectations for the role' performance rating (over the course of 18 months) and with that a merit-based salary raise of over $30,000/yr for my contributions to both Fortnite and LEGO Fortnite

Project Description
A free to play multiplayer survival crafting adventure with classic LEGO building! There are so many aspects of this game I touched that it is difficult to compile them so I grabbed a video that is a showcase of the guided build system I co-created with a gameplay engineer where it holds the hand of the player to finish a predefined set of instructions. It is one of the most commonly used mechanics in the game.
